Hello again!
Time is just flying and it's crazy to think about how much has happened here since last Wednesday when I wrote! This past week we had the chance to teach our friend Gracie the plan of salvation... and the lesson was in English. (Ekkkk!!) I was súper nervous, but it was an incredible lesson!! She testified to us and told us how she just wishes that everyone knew about god and his plan for us. She is increíble and definitely a giant miracle for us! (Also, I'm learning how to make really good Indian food from her, so be prepared!) Gracie is doing great and her cute daughter Amelia is still my best little buddy. ❤️
Thursday we had weekly planning and it was my turn to say the opening prayer. Before I knew it, I was just crying my eyes out and I could barely talk because I was so choked up. I finished, more than embarrassed,😳 looked at my companion and she just came over and gave me the biggest hug. I wish there was some way I could express and explain how much LOVE I have for the people, our friends, the members, my companions, the church, the Book of Mormon, Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesucristo. We are SO blessed to know that there is a plan for us, that this time is a time to walk by faith, the learn, to improve, to be better and to become like our Savior. I hope if you're reading this, you know how much your father in heaven loves you. Pray to him, talk to him, he's waiting! He loves you!
Well, Friday night during English class, I got a phone call asking if I could do a musical number on the violin with an hermana who would sing because someone from the stake presidency was going to be in the sacrament meeting and they needed a number asap. Of course I accepted but explained how there was a slight problem because I didn't have a violin because I had to give it back. We ending up getting the violin about 5 minutes before sacrament and the hermana and I quickly ran through the song. It turned out increíble! Her voice is like and angel and there was definitely the spirit there to help us feel Gods love. So grateful for music and the power and spirit that is brings.
This morning, being preparation day, I was cleaning/getting ready and the phone rang. It was one of our miracle friends! (The miracle family that we met about 2 weeks ago) I answered and he said, "Hermana Curtis. I watched the Jose Smith movie last night. And I know it's true." I was a little confused because we haven't really had the chance to teach about the restoration yet. But he explained how he was on the church website and he found the video. I talked to him for about 10 minutes on the phone and he just testified to me about how Joseph smith had to have been a prophet of God because that's just the way God works, he's the same today, yesterday and forever. We talked and he talked to me, sharing how he felt and as I testified to him about how I knew that Joseph smith was a prophet and how I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, the spirit just filled my whole body. This family is a miracle and I am so excited to see what's in store for them!
Last week I think I talked about how we just got like 5 new ward missionaries- well this week we had the weekly missionary meeting with them and our ward mission leader and it was amazing! They all are jóvenes (youth, sorry) and they are excited to work and come out with us! Great things are going to happen here!
Well, that's just about it for me here. Sorry it's a little short and a little all over the place. I just want to say how much I love being a missionary and how much I love serving the Lord. Everyday there are so many miracles that are to be seen and so many ways that God is showing his love to us, whether it be seeing a good friend randomly on the street, people coming to church, or phone calls from friends just to know how they're doing and how they feel. We are so blessed-Count your blessings!
This is week 6 of the transfer, which means that it's the last week! My cute companion hermana Karlen will head home to California and I will be getting a new companion... my last one!! Ahhh!!!
I'm excited, nervous, anxious, scared, happy and probably anything else you could thing of. ha.
I'll be back next week to let you know what happens!!
But for now, have the best week and remember who you are and what you stand for!
Besitos, hermanita Curtis ❤️
