We are headed to Azuqueca

Hello hello! Happy day!

This week has been increíble and I feel so beyond blessed! This last week, being the last week in the mission for hermana Karlen, I really wanted to have a great week... and all I have to say is that Heavenly Father is SO good. He is so increíble and I know that He is so aware of us. This week consisted of things like our miracle friend that we met about 2 weeks ago teaching US the restoration, we had 30 people at Family home evening (!!!!!!) which was AMAZING!

Visiting a member in the hospital and making a little homemade lunch so the wife wouldn't have to have machine food, and we finished the Book of Mormon! Our friends are all doing really well and they are all progressing and one of my favorite things that I have seen is the light of Christ and comfort that we can truly find through Him.

I talked a little bit about the Book of Mormon challenge that president pack gave us, to read the Book of Mormon in this last transfer and hermana karlen and I did it, together!! I am so grateful for hermana karlen for her love, her support and the light that she just radiates of Christ. She was no where close to "dying" and she truly was in it to the last minute. I am so excited and proud of her and all of the hard work and things she has helped me do here in Guadalajara these past 6 weeks.

With changes and transfers, my new companion is the hermana Barlow! She is from Nevada, Las Vegas and she has 2 more transfers left. She is amazing and I am so excited to work with her and to help her meet all of our friends. I'm excited to keep working to keep going and I really just want to give it my all to the people to the ward and to God. These next 6 weeks, this transfer is going to be super busy and crazy. They are doing a little construction in our little capilla here (our church is just a bajo, which is just like the ground floor of a building). They are going to take a wall out to make the sacrament room a little bigger... sooo with that, we will be headed to Azuqueca, a town next to us, which is a ward and they have a beautiful chapel!! (For the next 7 weeks or so) will have a special bus to take us there and back on Sundays, but we won't have a place to do English class and family home evening... im a little sad/ worried because this week we had so many people at the noche de hogar (Family Home Evening) and it's really growing! The members are coming to support, our friends are coming and this past week was just such a great night! Even though I am worried, I'm a little excited for this "trial of faith". We do have to travel and maybe sacrifice a little to get there, yes I'm worried about our friends getting there with us, but I'm excited to help them really see the importance of church and getting to our meetings on Sundays. I'm excited and I know it'll all be ok!

Sorry I'm running out of time, but I just want to end saying that I know the Jesus Christ is our savior and that he loves us. I know with my whole heart that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that it is the word of God and I know that we truly can find the answers to questions of our souls.

I love being a missionary, I love the work, I love the people and I love being here. Have a great week and I'll be back next week!!

Just a little scripture to end.. 3 Nefi 18:24 - Therefore, hold up your light that it may shine unto the world. Behold I am the light which ye shall hold up--that which ye have seen me do

Hold up your lights. Be a light. Follow the light!

(Sorry I'm not very good with my words/writing... I'm trying!)

I watched the Joseph Smith movie last night. And I know it's true.

Hello again!

Time is just flying and it's crazy to think about how much has happened here since last Wednesday when I wrote! This past week we had the chance to teach our friend Gracie the plan of salvation... and the lesson was in English. (Ekkkk!!) I was súper nervous, but it was an incredible lesson!! She testified to us and told us how she just wishes that everyone knew about god and his plan for us. She is increíble and definitely a giant miracle for us! (Also, I'm learning how to make really good Indian food from her, so be prepared!) Gracie is doing great and her cute daughter Amelia is still my best little buddy. ❤️

Thursday we had weekly planning and it was my turn to say the opening prayer. Before I knew it, I was just crying my eyes out and I could barely talk because I was so choked up. I finished, more than embarrassed,😳 looked at my companion and she just came over and gave me the biggest hug. I wish there was some way I could express and explain how much LOVE I have for the people, our friends, the members, my companions, the church, the Book of Mormon, Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesucristo. We are SO blessed to know that there is a plan for us, that this time is a time to walk by faith, the learn, to improve, to be better and to become like our Savior. I hope if you're reading this, you know how much your father in heaven loves you. Pray to him, talk to him, he's waiting! He loves you!

Well, Friday night during English class, I got a phone call asking if I could do a musical number on the violin with an hermana who would sing because someone from the stake presidency was going to be in the sacrament meeting and they needed a number asap. Of course I accepted but explained how there was a slight problem because I didn't have a violin because I had to give it back. We ending up getting the violin about 5 minutes before sacrament and the hermana and I quickly ran through the song. It turned out increíble! Her voice is like and angel and there was definitely the spirit there to help us feel Gods love. So grateful for music and the power and spirit that is brings.

This morning, being preparation day, I was cleaning/getting ready and the phone rang. It was one of our miracle friends! (The miracle family that we met about 2 weeks ago) I answered and he said, "Hermana Curtis. I watched the Jose Smith movie last night. And I know it's true." I was a little confused because we haven't really had the chance to teach about the restoration yet. But he explained how he was on the church website and he found the video. I talked to him for about 10 minutes on the phone and he just testified to me about how Joseph smith had to have been a prophet of God because that's just the way God works, he's the same today, yesterday and forever. We talked and he talked to me, sharing how he felt and as I testified to him about how I knew that Joseph smith was a prophet and how I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, the spirit just filled my whole body. This family is a miracle and I am so excited to see what's in store for them!

Last week I think I talked about how we just got like 5 new ward missionaries- well this week we had the weekly missionary meeting with them and our ward mission leader and it was amazing! They all are jóvenes (youth, sorry) and they are excited to work and come out with us! Great things are going to happen here!

Well, that's just about it for me here. Sorry it's a little short and a little all over the place. I just want to say how much I love being a missionary and how much I love serving the Lord.  Everyday there are so many miracles that are to be seen and so many ways that God is showing his love to us, whether it be seeing a good friend randomly on the street, people coming to church, or phone calls from friends just to know how they're doing and how they feel. We are so blessed-Count your blessings!

This is week 6 of the transfer, which means that it's the last week! My cute companion hermana Karlen will head home to California and I will be getting a new companion... my last one!! Ahhh!!!

I'm excited, nervous, anxious, scared, happy and probably anything else you could thing of. ha.

I'll be back next week to let you know what happens!!

But for now, have the best week and remember who you are and what you stand for!

Besitos, hermanita Curtis ❤️

poco a poco

Hi! Well goodness gracious we have had some big technical difficulties today... I was on the computer and I had typed some of my email then it decided that I only had 1 minute left and then I was kicked out... sooo with that said and all that happening-I don't have too much time to write!

Thinking back on this week I just want to write a little about how much I love Heavenly Father and how he truly is waiting to bless us and help us. Last Monday after writing, i had a super bad headache and I wasn't feeling very well. I wasn't going to give up and throw in the towel in for the day, and I was determined that we were going to go out to work and work for those miracles. We worked hard, talked to everyone and the miracles were seen! We ran into a family of a future friend of ours and we met an increíble family!!! It was almost time for us to be home, but we knew that someone was out there waiting for us. As we were waiting to cross the street, we see the cutest family (a dad, mom, and the cutest little boy and a baby on the way!!) and the spirit was so strong and we both just smiled at each other and knew what we needed to do. We talked to them, exchanged numbers, gave them a Book of Mormon. Ended up eating an increíble lunch with them on Saturday, the dad came to church on Sunday and they all came to English class and the noche de Hogar! (By the way, we had 18 PEOPLE AT ENGLISH class yesterday- it was CRAZY!!)

I realized (and I'm sorry) that I don't write a lot about our friends here in my emails. Everyday (and week) is such a new and different day and there are always new things happening. We have an AMAZING group of friends here and I feel so blessed for each of them. They progress very poco a poco, but I feel so blessed, because they are progressing and seeing the hand of God in their lives.

It's a crazy time right now, with summer, my companion goes home in like a week, and there will be a lot of change coming.. again!

Sorry this is short, but I just want to testify and say how much I love the Book of Mormon. The other day a man stopped us in the street and we were talking about God and Christ. He was telling us how he wanted us to convince him and we told him that we're only here to teach, share and testify. There was such an amazing spirit as I stood there testifying to him about how I know that We had a God, a father in heaven who loves us, how i know that Jesus Christ is our savior and how i know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I feel so blessed to wear Christ's name on my chest and I love being a missionary.

This past week we had Rainy stormy days and I thought we were going to have to build an ark, like we did in LUGO because there was so much rain, haha but now we're back to the sun, sweaty and AC. Rain or shine, I love the mission, I love my Savior. I know this church is the church of Jesucristo and I invite you to 1, pray to give thanks to our father in heaven for restoring the true church on the earth or 2, if you don't know much about the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, meet with the missionaries and find out!

We're headed off because we need to go do a few more errands before the day ends. Sorry this was so crazy and a little jumbled. I'll be back on Monday! Have a great week!!

Besitos y abrazos! ❤️❤️
