The 1€ Coin

Hola hola! Hola it going?? So first I'm going to start with some funnies/culture/ things about Spain. 1, everywhere here has a dog. Or 2. Or 3. There are dogs everyone! 2, there are cute old people everywhere and the Spanish dresses that the ladies wear are amazing. Hermana weaver got one from a member and it's the best thing. 3, there are cute old people sitting on every bench to be seen. (Especially now that's is summer).

Also, as I was sitting here in the missionary room at our church, the Mtc missionaries just walked by from sports and guess who I saw?? MAGGIE WILKINSON! (I went to high school with her) she was in the Provo Mtc for 3 weeks and now here for 6, before she's headed to Russia. It did not seem like real life and it was so cool to see a familiar home, Utah face!

So this week, I want to share a quick story of something really cool that happened. Saturday morning we kind of had a rough morning. I went to kneel at my bed to say my prayer before we left the house. I was crying to my Heavenly Father just asking for strength and love... As I got up from my bed and wiping the huge wet spot from my covers, there was a 1 € coin there... Really confused on how it got there, I pick it up and put it in my backpack. About an hour later, Hermana Weaver and I were sitting on a bench waiting for our investigator to come for a lesson and I asked it if she had put that coin on my bed. Really confused, she said no and asked why. I explained to her what had happened and she just kept telling me that God somehow put it there and God was and is looking out for me. Still confused I believed her and just went on with the day. During media día while I was eating lunch, I came across the bible video of the Talents. I watched it and it was cool because it had been something I been reading a few days earlier. Saturday night as I was saying my prayers before bed, I was closing and all of a sudden a thought came to me about the parable of the Talents. (Matthew 25:14-30) go read it, please!

Verse 21 reads, His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

If you read the parable or remember, the Lord gave so many talents to each person and those who shared and used their talents and went out for more, received more. The person who received 1 and went and hid his talent got it taken away...

So when I was praying the thought came to me about the parable. As a daughter of God, as a missionary, as Hermana Curtis, I have been given talents from my Heavenly Father and I need to use them, I need to share them and not hide them!!

Not only have I been given talents, but YOU have talents as well! You have a Heavenly Father who loves you, he knows you, and he wants you to use your talents! Recognize your strengths, stay humble, but use your talents to serve others, love others, and build the kingdom of God!

Well, There's always more I could say and sorry for scattered thoughts, but this is it for this week! The work is great. We have 2 baptisms for 2 cute kids in our ward for the 9 of July and we are really excited. I'll keep you updated as it gets closer! Have a great week and remember who you are! Talk to you soon :)

Much love, Hermanita Curtis
