Final Testimony

Heya heya!

What a week we've had here in the Guadalajara! Everything from surprise birthday parties, meeting with our friend from China, and India!! last Zone Conference, having a few friends "break up" with us... 😕, intercambios, 5 am sprints to the train, success soccer, famous calamari sandwiches, and a lot of work!!

After 17 months of serving a mission, I still sit here with my ipad in my hands, never really knowing what I should share or say for the week. So, sorry, but here it goes!

I think one of my favorite things about being a missionary is really just learning how to forget yourself and go to work. As a missionary, you are stretched to do hard things and you learn how to truly trust in the Savior, His guiding hand and His camino.

This week was a difficult week. We had 2 of our really good friends tell us that they basically didn't have a lot of time to meet with us and that "they would call us". A few days later, one of them did end up calling us and told us that she was sorry and that she did want our help.

Tuesday we had an amazing zone conference with all of the zones in Madrid! I had to chance to bear my final testimony and it was so neat to be with so many people that have changed my life, who have helped me, and some lifelong friends that I have truly made here.

Wednesday was a day full of residency and fixing water heater problems in our piso.😣  Once we finally got out, Heavenly Father was just waiting to send those miracles down to us.  We ended up going to knock a few doors in this building and we wanted to take a different approach to it all, so we sang hymns!

Was it a little weird at first? Of course!
Did it work? Not really.
Was the spirit felt? Yes!
And we even got a few people that told us that we could come back!

As we left the building, it was time to head home, and we ended up talking to a family and a lady from Peru in the street. (Something that I love about spain, is that we meet people for, literally ALL over the world.)

This week I wanted to share a little something that I learned in my studies. Right now I am reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible and studying the Christlike attributes. I was reading in 3 Nefi 12 and there we read about Christ teaching us to love others, especially our enemies, those who use us... we pray for them!

In Matthew 20, we read the story about the laborers in the vineyard. In that story we read about gods forgiveness, love, patience, mercy, and we learn that it is never EVER too late to come unto Him. He's always there waiting.

Something that really hit me from these 2 scriptures is how important and essential it is to have the gospel in our lives. I know, it seems like such a simple statement, but think about it?! I am so grateful for this guide, light, and pathway that I have in my life. Today, the world is teaching us all these things that "we should do" or that are "ok".. but through the gospel of Jesus Christ and through His example and teachings, we know who we are, where we're going, and what we stand for!

I just want to close by inviting you, the reader, to take a step back and offer a prayer of gratitude for the gospel and this guide that we have in our lives.

I know the Jesuschrist is the light and life of the world. I know He is our Savior and older brother. He's the ones who's helped me along the way, and he still is always there helping me along. I invite you to learn about him, his attributes, his life, and to become like him!!

Preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary, use your words.

I love this gospel and I love the special time that I have to serve.
Have a great week and good luck to those starting school!

Les quiero mucho!
Abrazos y besitos! ❤️❤️
