Children recognize the face of Christ

Hello again! What another great week here!

First off, happy 4th of July! Please celebrate a little extra for me with eating some yummy hamburgers, watermelon and enjoying the song "I'm proud to be an American!"🇺🇸 GO USA! Haha. How blessed we are to live in a free country!

Well.... This week was a hard-working week... with not a ton of results showing... yesterday was a sad day for me because no one came to church...🙁 my heart was sad, not because I wanted amazing numbers for the week, but I want to share something, the gospel, that makes me so happy with those that I love. I was left thinking about the importance of church attendance and really my thoughts and feelings about why I really want our friends there. I'm excited for a new week and I'm excited to work hard to make sure they're all there this next Sunday!

This week we had zone conference, I had an interview with President Pack (which was increíble like always), and after zone conference we had intercambios with the hermanas from barrio 4. Usually for intercambios, the hermanas come here and the 4 work here in our area, but this time we did a little "split" because they needed a little extra help in their area. On the way to barrio 4, we were in the metro and I felt like I needed to pull my Book of Mormon out and read. A few minutes later, a girl leaned over to me and said, "where did you buy that book?" I smiled and asked if she wanted one as I was reaching in my backpack out to give her the Book. She smiled and said thank you and she hurriedly told me that she had to get off. WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED?! I have such a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and I know that it is the word of God. Since we are doing the transfer challenge, we are picking up so many little details that usually get left out and Hermana Karlen and I are learning so much about our heroes in the Book of Mormon. (Again, like last week... I invite you to read the Book of Mormon!)

This weekend we got to go out and play some music on the street and talk to people... but this time we had our foto of Christ with us! As we played, something that I noticed was the little kids who walked by. There was one cute little boy holding this giant balloon and he was standing a little bit in front of me, listening to the music and looking back and forth from the picture of Christ, then watching me. He would take a few steps, then look back and do it again. His mom was there holding his hand, and I honestly think they were there for a good 3-4 minutes just watching and listening. A few minutes later there was another cute little boy walking by, probably like 3 years old and he did the same thing. He started walking towards Christ and he was just staring at him, then would look at me, and back at Christ. This happened with at least 3 kiddos and it got me thinking about all the stories we hear about Christ and the little children. Those kiddos left our Heavenly Father not too long ago, and that face is someone they recognize. Our quest here on this earth is to come to know of Savior Jesus Christ, to follow him and to follow in his footsteps. I'm grateful for the example of these little ones who were walking by and admiring Christ.

Mosiah 3: 19 For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.

Sorry I don't have much time to write! It was a crazy week and we're headed back out again! Next week I'll write on Wednesday because we have temple day next Wednesday. Wahoo!!

I just want you to know that I know our Savior lives. I know He loves us and I know that He knows us. Personally and individually. He takes us One by One, and he's always there.

Have a great week and read the Book of Mormon! ❤️❤️
