Lessons with people from Brazil, Spain, Guatemala, Peru, India, and China.

What an incredible week we had this week!

New friends, new companion, hot hot hot and sweaty summer days and of course miracles!

Hermana Karlen is my new companion and she is incredible! She is from California, and she has 5 weeks left in the mission! 🙃 she is amazing, such a hard worker and I know she's where she needs to be right now... and it's with me! I'm so excited to learn from her, work with her, and I know we're going to have a great transfers together. It's crazy to have an American companion because the last time I had one was last summer.. haha. So, without anything else.. lets get onto this week!

Wednesday night I called elder Campbell (a matrimonio couple in the islands who are incredible!!) because it was his birthday! It was a quick phone call just to say happy birthday and a few minutes later he called me back... he called me back to tell me that the work was increíble in LOS Cristianos. Remember all the Chinese kiddos that I had in English class?! Well, he told me that they are all going to sacrament meeting, and that they are all going to primary and learning the primary songs! I was speechless and had the happiest feeling in my heart. So many days we would go to English class in the islands and those kids would just light up my heart and make the day so much better.... and now they are going to church!! Elder Campbell thanked me for the seeds that I had planted there and he thanked me for the example that I had left. The work may seem slow, but it's coming along!!

This week I just wanted to share 2 happy moments from the week here in Guadalajara.

We have seen so many miracles as we have switched up our routine and we're really trying to follow the spirit and do what our Father in Heaven would have us do.

We have a cute friend named Emilia who moved here from China. She is here in Spain studying Spanish (and she speaks really well!) we had a lesson with her a few weeks ago and it was great, but we have the cutest Chinese sisters here so we were thinking it would be amazing if they could teach her. We had a Skype lesson, them teaching her in Chinese and although we couldn't understand, the spirit was so strong! Emilia said the closing prayer in Chinese and it was seriously the coolest thing! We are praying for her and we have another appointment set up with her this next week! 😀

2nd happy moment/miracle that I wanted to share is about a new friend named Gracie. Our first morning here together, hermana karlen and I, we were walking down a street here in Guadalajara. Hermana karlen says hi to this lady and in the best Spanish she can speak she tells us that she doesn't speak Spanish. Well turns out she's from India, she's only been here a few months, and she speaks English! She told us that she's been looking for a Christian church here,  but she wasn't exactly sure where she could find one. Well, there we were, and of course we invited here to church! She couldn't make it to church, but Sunday night we went over to visit her. I wish there were words to explain how Special and Prepared Gracie is, but there are no words. She is increíble and loved talking with us. A few days after meeting her, we went to her husbands work to meet him. When we met with Gracie in Sunday night she told us that her husband was so surprised at what kind girls we were and how special we are because the way we are dressed and how we have the Bible (the Book of Mormon😀) in our hands as we are walking down the streets. We are so excited for Gracie and feel so blessed for this miracle. She also has the cutest daughter Amela. I'm sorry there are no words, but we are just so excited!

These past few weeks and little bit have been really cool for me and I've noticed a change in me as a missionary and the way I do things. I've been studying more about following the spirit, letting the spirit guide my words, listening to not only the spirit, but really focusing on what the people are telling us, and acting on what they say. And along with that, bearing testimony and telling the "why" and really promising blessings.  Because GOD WANTS TO BLESS US!

Elder Holland in Preach my Gospel promises us that if we really listen, they (our friends) will always highlight a truth of the gospel about what we can bear testimony on and if we really listen, we don't have to worry about what we say because it will be given to us by the spirit.

I have really experienced that this week with listening and the spirit really just testifies about what I should say or what we should do. I have had so many experiences this week when I was a little nervous before or in a lesson, or even on the street... I wasn't really sure what I should say, but when I really listened, and I was praying to have the spirit With me, i truly had the words and I knew what I needed to say.

This week we have had lessons with people from Brazil, Spain, Guatemala, Peru, India, and China. I don't think you can do that anywhere else, but here in Spain it's a daily or weekly thing! I feel SO blessed. I can't help to think of the primary song "Holding hands around the world."
We are children holding hands around the world like an army, with the gospel flag unfurled. We are lead by his light, and we love truth and right, we are building the kingdom of god!

I feel so blessed to be here in Spain, building the kingdom of god!
I just want to testify that I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church of God. I know God lives and I know He loves us. I feel so blessed to be a missionary and I absolutely love it.

This week is another busy week with the missionary work that I love!
Hope all is well at home!

Que tengan una buena semana y hablaremos la semana que viene! 😊

Besitos, Hermanita Curtis
