The rains came down and the floods came up....

Hello! This week in LUGO has been an adventure!

Another 6 weeks have come and gone and transfer calls have been made- Hermana Ibañez and I will be staying together another transfer!

This week has rained SOOOO MUCH and we joked that we needed to build an ark because we were literally going to float away. 2 of the nights the blinds were rattling so hard I thought our piso was going to fly away like Dorothy in the wizard of oz!

Through the storms and rain, we're all good, and the work goes on!

This week we did a lot of walking and talking, haha normal. The days when we had things scheduled a lot of appointment fell through because the weather was so bad and they didn't want to come out..

One of the highlights from the week was an amazing lesson with one of our friends Fina! She is an old friend of the Hermana's from about a year ago and we called her a few weeks ago. We've met with her 3 times now, she's come to church twice and this last lesson we invited her to be baptized, and she said yes?! We had an amazing lesson about the plan of salvation and how this life here on earth is only just a portion of what's in store and how we can live with our families forever.  The spirit was so strong as we both testified of gods love and how he knows each one of us personally. Miracles happen when you follow the spirit and you are an instrument in the hand of the lord!

Not only have I felt like Nephi and us needing to build and ark, but I am also felt like Alma as well...

in Alma 8 we read...

13 Now when the people had said this, and withstood all his words, and reviled him, and spit upon him, and caused that he should be cast out of their city, he departed thence and took his journey towards the city which was called Aaron.

14 And it came to pass that while he was journeying thither, being weighed down with sorrow, wading through much tribulation and anguish of soul, because of the wickedness of the people who were in the city of Ammonihah, it came to pass while Alma was thus weighed down with sorrow, behold an angel of the Lord appeared unto him, saying:

15 Blessed art thou, Alma; therefore, lift up thy head and rejoice, for thou hast great cause to rejoice; for thou hast been faithful in keeping the commandments of God from the time which thou receivedst thy first message from him. Behold, I am he that delivered it unto you.

This week consisted of broken umbrellas, wet skirts, cold feet, and a lot of rejection... and although I know we aren't having it as tough as Alma, I am grateful that I can relate to him and turn to his story for strength. The mission, life in general isn't always easy. Its not easy! It's not always flowers and roses and it doesn't always smell good. But like In verse 15, we can lift up our heads and REJOICE! We have a father in heaven who loves us, there is a plan for each one of us and we go through this trials to learn and grow. Our trials are just a small moment and we go through this times to help strengthen us and help us grow.

I know we have a father in heaven who loves us.

I know our savior lives.

Well, have a great week! Don't forget to smile and don't forget to serve someone!

Much love, Hermanita Curtis
